Money & Duty Free Iran
Local currency Iran's currency is officially denoted as the Rial, but the local people call it Toman. It is 10 times the value of the Rial (1 Toman = 10 Rial). Be sure to ask Prices written are in Rial or Toman. Local residents use Toman currency.
Products that do not require permission from the Iranian Ministry of Commerce prior to importing are coffee, dry tea, spices, grains, flour, corn starch, malk powder, grain, herbs, raw materials used for dyeing fabrics, raisins, fruit juices and powdered beverages.
Most other products are sold in the Kish Free Zone, Iran's most famous tourist and shopping destination.
