It was used in the royal funeral rites, which were believed to turn the royal family into gods after death. Inside the temple, you will find a sacred well that is more than 1,000 years old, which still has water gushing up all the time. It is believed that Indra created it when he drilled the earth to create the well of immortality to revive his warriors. The Balinese people therefore believe that if anyone comes to wash their bodies in this well, it will bring good fortune to their lives, help cure various diseases, strengthen their bodies, and drive away bad things.
